The Board of Control for Cricket in India released the IPL 2026 schedule in two parts.

Board of Control for Cricket in India initially released only the first 20 matches in Phase 1 due to upcoming state assembly elections in Assam, West Bengal, and Tamil Nadu.. Since they would have affected CSK (Chennai), KKR (Kolkata), and the Assam-based venue, Guwahati, the board held back the remaining fixtures until the Election Commission confirmed the timelines.

As soon as the election schedule was clear, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the Phase 2 details on March 26, 2026. Similarly, the board has not yet announced the playoff venues and dates and will confirm them closer to May 24.

IPL 2026 Phase 2 Venues: 12 Cities, One Championship

Phase 2 spreads cricket across 12 venues in India, making it one of the widest geographic spreads in IPL history. Notably, Guwahati hosted Phase 1 matches but dropped off the Phase 2 calendar.

Two venues worth flagging specifically: Punjab Kings split their home games between PCA Stadium (New Chandigarh) and HPCA Stadium (Dharamsala), with Dharamsala hosting three fixtures. Fans heading to Dharamsala should book early, given the limited accommodation in the region.

Meanwhile, defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will play three home games at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, and two more at Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur. Yes, the champions are taking their show on the road.
